Officially confirmed: GTA6 used no generative AI, single-player has no microtransactions

Rockstar recently gave clear answers via official channels and media interviews to two questions players care about: whether development used generative AI, and whether the single-player mode has microtransactions.
The official word
- Generative AI: when Rockstar North co-head Rob Nelson was asked directly whether the studio used generative AI, he answered a clear "No." The studio stressed that all game content is made by human developers; traditional AI is only used to drive routine NPC, traffic and police behavior.
- Microtransactions: officially confirmed — GTA6's single-player campaign contains no microtransactions (in-game purchases).
What this means for players
- The single-player story has no paywall; content is delivered complete.
- The business model for the online mode (GTA Online 2) has not been announced — this site will keep tracking it.
